‘Ehsan’ platform launches national campaign for charitable work April 16, 2021

RIYADH A Kingdom-wide campaign for charitable activities got underway on Friday on the National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan) in the presence of senior government officials and scholars as well as a large number of businessmen.
The “Ehsan” platform has been developed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) as part of its efforts to support charitable giving in Saudi Arabia.
The campaign, which will run throughout the month of Ramadan, aims to introduce the role of charitable giving (“Ehsan”) in promoting the values of charitable work among community members.

U.S. President Joe Biden plans to nominate long-time Senate staffer Jayme White and former White House official Sarah Bianchi to serve as deputies to U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai, the White House said on Friday.
White, currently the chief trade adviser for the Senate Finance Committee, has worked in the Senate on nearly every major trade issue and trade legislation for 20 years, the White House said in a statement.

Air New Zealand chair Dame Therese Walsh says it is normal to discuss board appointments with shareholding minister Grant Robertson, and it is already working to renew its directors. Opposition MPs say a letter from Robertson to the airline showed the Government was trying to exert inappropriate influence on the board of Air NZ, in which it has a 52 per cent stake.
